Cordell

AVERY

Cordell might not be a gourmand, but he knows what makes food good. Take, for instance, his version of macaroni and cheese kicked up a notch by adding hotdogs to it. He can bring home dinner, too, with one of his favorite activities: fishing. Ask him what he fishes for and Cordell will hold up his hands at shoulder width apart to show the size of the catfish that he catches. And one of the activities that he wants to enjoy with a future forever family is barbecuing. This silly young guy describes himself as funny and happy. Cordell has a great sense of humor. He likes to joke around and play practical jokes on others. He also loves sports, especially basketball, and enjoys playing video games, which he also wants to do with a forever family. Some of his favorite video games are Pokemon, Super Mario Brothers, Sonic, and any car racing game. Although Cordell is a funny person, he can also be shy. Despite some challenging behavioral issues, his current caregivers say that Cordell is both thoughtful and caring, and he seeks a loving connection with people.

Cordell will need a family to continue the services that he needs to function at his best and possibly seek out additional services and support if new needs arise. He will need help and patience with daily skills.

Cordell needs experienced parents who have a lot of nurturing, patience and acceptance to give, possibly a couple with grown children, as Cordell would do best as an only child. It will help Cordell if his forever parents have some knowledge of the impact of trauma on a child’s behavior and development. Limits and boundaries are necessary for Cordell. He will need a family willing to actively participate in his services and advocate for his needs.
