• It is not foster care or related to foster care in any way.
• It is not what is typically portrayed in movies or other media.

What private adoption IS:

• It is a process where you are in control – you call the shots!
• You may choose the adoptive family if you desire.
• You may choose how you want the hospital experience to play out.
• You may choose the type of relationship you would like with the family both during and after the adoption (or, you may choose not to have a relationship).
