Sienna

Sienna “Joy”

Joy, as Sienna prefers, has an eclectic range of interests. She’s a creative girl who likes drawing and coloring. Joy is an athletic girl who has participated on her school’s bowling team. Joy loves playing board games, especially Sorry and Monopoly. Joy’s favorite colors are pink and purple and her favorite animals are dogs, wolves and cats. After school, Joy likes to have fun with friends. They enjoy each other’s company by watching movies and going shopping. Joy loves shopping and hopes to visit the Mall of America one day. “It’s a nice place to be and has great shopping,” she says. When she gets older, Joy wants to become a cook or nurse. It seems quite likely that Joy will become a career professional since she is a smart, hard-working young lady who likes to set and achieve goals. Her worker pays Joy an exceptionally endearing compliment. “Joy is a very sweet, kind and friendly young lady,” the worker says. “She is very engaging.” Joy hopes to use some of that engaging personality with her future forever family. She wants them to do family activities together such as visiting water parks or going to concerts.

According to her worker, Joy generally does well and utilizes the coping skills she has learned. Joy does well with assistance to help her function at her best in school. She generally performs well academically and says math and science are her favorite subjects.

Joy would do best with two parents or a female parent with a strong support network. Her new parent or parents would benefit from knowledge of the impact of trauma on a child. Joy’s new forever family must be patient and able to provide a structured home environment with close supervision. They also must be strong advocates for the services that Joy will need now and into adulthood.
