GENESIS

The future looks bright for Genesis, who not only wants to be a chef when she gets older but also hopes to be her own boss by owning the restaurant. The daily specials likely will feature lasagna and meatloaf since those are her favorite foods, but the menu is apt to include most anything because Genesis loves variety in her diet. She especially likes pizza and Chinese cuisine, and she loves cooking. Food plays an important role in Genesis’ favorite holidays, 4th of July and Christmas, which she likes celebrating with good eats and good company. Genesis wants people to know that she likes to do a lot of crafts and she’s learning how to sew. Other activities that Genesis enjoys include swimming, singing, dancing and painting nails. Genesis also likes cheerleading and playing basketball. One of Genesis’ favorite things to do is shopping, especially on weekends. She also likes to play board games such as “Yahtzee” and “Scattergories.” If she could travel to anywhere, Genesis would visit Paris because she believes it’s a peaceful place. One of the most important things Genesis wants others to know is how compassionate she is, and one of her workers agrees. “She is caring and always eager to help and please,” the worker says. With her future forever family, Genesis would like to play sports, hang out, watch movies and go shopping.

Genesis receives services to help her develop coping skills. Genesis enjoys school and says her favorite subject is science. Genesis tells her worker that she’s “rocking school” and is involved with the National Honors Society.

Genesis would benefit from being placed in a home in which the primary caregiver is female. Genesis would do well in a home with younger or older siblings. Her forever family must be patient with and supportive of Genesis as she adapts to her new home. The family must ensure that Genesis receives the services that will help her function at her best. Finally, the family must be willing to let Genesis maintain her sibling relationships.
