Bryauna

Bryauna takes her studies seriously, and it’s paying off. She does well in her favorite classes and has been on her school’s honor roll. In addition to academics, Bryauna takes a shine to athletics. She likes playing basketball whether it’s indoors or outdoors. Her other favorite things to do include shopping and listening to music. “She likes to listen to all different types of music,” says Bryauna’s worker. She also enjoys watching movies, and comedies are her favorite flicks. When it’s time to eat, Bryauna expands her taste buds to include rice, chicken, dressing and ribs as her favorite foods. According to her worker, “Bryauna likes to spend time with family and friends.” When she’s asked about the qualities she wants in a future forever family, Bryauna says she wants one who will be caring and accepting.

Bryauna receives services to help process the trauma she experienced. Those who regularly come in contact with Bryauna say she’s doing well, “and they are proud of her,” says her worker. Bryauna does best with a daily schedule and clear expectations. In school, Bryauna says English is her favorite subject.

Bryauna would do best with a single mom who is experienced. Her new parent must be knowledgeable of the impact of trauma on a child. Bryauna’s new forever family must be strong advocates for the services that will help her function at her best. Finally, the family must be open to letting Bryauna maintain her sibling relationships.
