Isaaiah
It can take time for him to trust others or open up in new situations, and when he’s feeling unsure or disconnected, he may retreat into his own space. He needs adults in his life who can balance a healthy respect for his need for space with a kind and welcoming encouragement to open up. With patience, Isaaiah can begin to build those connections at his own pace. An adult close to him says, “Isaaiah has to be pushed to talk or open up to others but once he does, he’s witty, smart, and can be very respectful.” He’s not one to rush into things, but once he feels safe, he shows up with kindness and a willingness to engage. Holidays are a bright spot for him. He enjoys the simple pleasures of unwrapping presents at Christmas, dressing up for Halloween, or indulging in candy while spending time with people he feels comfortable around. His dream trip would take him to Paris, where he imagines seeing the Eiffel Tower and, of course, sampling the food. He may not yet know what he wants to be when he grows up, but he has big dreams and even bigger empathy—wishing not just for money or more wishes, but for world hunger to be solved.
For Isaaiah, a forever family won’t need to have all the answers. What matters more is that they’re patient, grounded, ready to meet him where he’s at, and committed to sticking with him through thick and thin. He may not always know how to express what he needs, but he’s worth the time it takes to figure it out together. Isaaiah could thrive in many home dynamics and would do best in a home with an experienced parent or parents. He gets along with others, but he also values his alone time and could do well in a home as the only child or with others. Pets could be a bonus for Isaaiah, as he loves animals. With a calm, compassionate presence and a willingness to stay steady even when things feel frustrating, the right family will discover a young man who is clever, kind, and capable of deep connection when given the space to be himself.
