TORI

TORI

When the clouds block the sun for you, they part for Tori. When the traffic taxes your temperament, it clears for Tori. She’s not a glass half full or glass half empty kind of girl. That glass is always full. “What makes Tori unique,” says her worker, “is her ability to always try and see the positive in everything. No matter the situation, Tori will always try and see the bright side to it.” Not only is Tori an optimist but an artist as well. “She is a talented artist; she has a portfolio of work that she continuously adds to,” says her worker. In fact, when she’s asked what she takes the most pride in, Tori cites her artwork. This bubbly, outgoing and personable girl showcases her talents in other ways. First of all, Tori is a varsity member of her school’s cheerleading squad. She also takes an interest in writing and says creative writing is her favorite subject in school. Her talent for detail shows in Tori’s reason to visit her dream destination, which is London. “I like the beautiful views,” she says, “and I have heard they have amazing coffee.” Rest assured that Tori doesn’t have extravagant tastes. She’s a more down-to-earth kind of girl. “At home and school, Tori loves to interact with others and is always willing to help out where it is needed,” says her worker. With her future forever family, Tori hopes to go on walks and have family game nights together.

Tori has some issues related to her past trauma, but she receives services to help her manage her feelings. “I have been though a lot of heavy stuff,” says Tori, when asked what she wants people to know about her, “but I am still loveable and am like other kids but in different ways.” Tori generally does well in school and admits to not liking “the drama that high school brings,” according to her worker.

Tori would welcome the possibility of one or two experienced parents in a household in which she’s the only female child. She does, however, want other siblings and would do well with younger or older brothers and sisters. Her new forever family would benefit from knowledge of the impact of trauma on a child’s behavior and development. They also must be strong advocates for the services that will help Tori function at her best.
