Marissa
Her future motivates Marissa to do her best. “Although Marissa does not know what she wants to be when she grows up,” says her worker, “she does recognize that she will need to put forth effort in school to learn what she can to give herself the background she needs to succeed.” Marissa wants to go on to college before embarking on a career path. In the meantime, she’ll focus on the present, which includes some of her favorite things. She’s an active girl who likes to fuel up with her favorite foods including pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets and hot Takis. Marissa enjoys shopping, playing board games and watching youngsters. She likes sports, too. “Marissa loves all of the colors of the rainbow except for brown because she doesn’t like the way it looks,” her worker says. With her future forever family, Marissa wants to do “fun things” together such as going on trips.
Marissa describes herself as pretty, nice, friendly and loving. Her worker says Marissa uses a number of methods to keep herself on an even keel including coloring and listening to music. “Marissa does well in school and her favorite subject is math,” her worker adds.
Marissa would do best with a single female parent, two female parents or a mom and dad. She will need a patient and understanding forever family in which she is the oldest child. Her new parent or parents should have prior parenting experience and should be knowledgeable of the impact of trauma on a child.
