Animals rank high on Devon’s list of interests. “Devon enjoys being around animals,” says a person who knows him well. “He is very knowledgeable regarding animals’ needs and loves to care for them.” Taking care of animals happens to be one of Devon’s favorite weekend activities, and his favorite after-school activity is practicing with his horse. Devon participates in 4-H, and he loves hunting and fishing. In addition to being an outdoorsman, Devon is a classical kind of guy, especially when it comes to games. He likes playing with Legos and Sonic and Mario video games. Like Kevin in “Home Alone,” Devon loves cheese pizza. He says his favorite animal is a turtle, and his favorite colors are green and white (a Spartan choice!). Devon’s dream destination is Florida so he can visit Disney World and Legoland, and his desired career is professional wrestler. Devon prides himself on being physically fit. He wants to go on outings with his future forever family and perhaps go hunting or fishing. One of the things that gives Devon great joy is riding on four-wheelers or dirt bikes, and he hopes his new family gives him that opportunity.

“Devon is a curious young man and loves to work with his hands,” says a close acquaintance. In addition to caring for animals, Devon helps out in other ways around the house. He benefits from services at school to help him excel. Devon says science is his favorite subject.

Devon wants a forever family with a mom and dad. His new parents should be experienced and trauma informed. In addition, Devon would do best as the only or youngest child in his new forever family. His new parents will need to make sure Devon receives the services he needs.
