Joshua likes to think of himself as funny. But others say he’s the quiet, respectful type who’s sweet and responsible. “He’s cute as a button,” says his CASA (court-appointed special advocate) for the past two years. “He’s just darling. And he’s very intelligent.”
He likes to play soccer, though he hasn’t played on an official team, and likes to watch it on TV. He also likes to watch cartoons and action movies and likes to play games on his Nintendo DS. His favorite toys are Legos and he can build just about anything with them. He also loves to swim.
He admits he doesn’t really like school, though he gets average grades and likes recess and playing with his friends. His CASA believes that with a little help, Josh could go to and be successful in college. Josh says that when he grows up, he would like to be “rich and famous.” He would like to start his own company to build houses though he’s also considered becoming a veterinarian.
Josh would like a family that allows him to keep up his relationships with his older brother and grandmother, a woman Josh describes as being very kind to him. “They do love their grandma very much,” says their CASA, who takes the boys to dinner and movies, during which she says they’re respectful and they mind her. Josh would love both a mom and a dad and would like a home with animals. His caseworkers suggest he’d do best with an active family and one where he can get his favorite foods – spaghetti and hot dogs.
