She’s described as a princess, and Nevaeh relishes the role. “She likes to look good, get her hair and nails done and dress in the latest fashion,” says her worker. Nevaeh likes singing, dancing and listening to music. She enjoys going to the mall, which is normal for a young lady her worker calls “a typical teenage girl.” Nevaeh also enjoys sleeping and spending time with friends. “Her favorite color is pink, and her favorite foods are pizza and chicken,” says Nevaeh’s worker. “She considers her birthday to be her favorite holiday, and she enjoys having parties and getting gifts.” When she gets older, Nevaeh wants to become a doctor. For now, she’ll settle for being a princess, but she doesn’t necessarily need her new forever family to be royalty.
Nevaeh can be self-conscious and appear on edge when she first meets people, but once she settles in, “she is a sweet girl,” her worker says. Nevaeh likes sharing a laugh with others and especially enjoys spending time with her siblings.
Nevaeh will need family to advocate for the services that will benefit her, should have prior experience and be trauma informed. Her new family must be open to letting Nevaeh maintain her sibling relationships
