Not quite sure what he might do with it, but Jalen wishes for a giant doughnut. Perhaps he’d slip it around his waist to protect himself should he spill while roller skating, one his favorite activities. Maybe he’d satisfy his sweet tooth while playing Apples to Apples, his favorite game. Would a husky – Jalen’s favorite animal – want to chow on a doughnut before dog-sled race? It seems the answer could reside in Jalen’s future career wish, to become a police officer. Regardless, Jalen prefers pizza as his favorite food and red as his favorite color. He loves futzing with computers after school and enjoys pitching in around the house. If he could visit anywhere, Jalen would go to CJ Barrymore’s because, in his words, “It has been a long time.” This “worldly” young man likes playing basketball and video games and enjoys having fun. He’s courageous and ambitious. “Jalen is a sweet, lovable and charismatic young boy with so much drive,” says his worker. He dreams of time with a future forever family in which they play games together and perhaps sample a side dish of giant doughnuts.

“Jalen is strong-willed and passionate with a sweet-natured personality,” says his worker. He does best with structure and routine and would benefit from guidance at times. It can be tough for Jalen to focus sometimes but receives assistance to help him stay on task. “Jalen enjoys math in school as well as gym class,” his worker says.

Jalen’s new forever family must be patient and understanding as he works through his past. He’d do best with two patient and experienced parents who are trauma informed. His new family must be strong advocates for the services that will help Jalen thrive at home and in school. Jalen also would do best as the only child in the home.
