Darius is a very active, outgoing and smart kid. He likes school and has shown great progress in his studies. Darius loves the computer and enjoys playing all different types of games on it. At school, he interacts well with his peers and enjoys saying hello at the beginning of his day and then goodbye when everyone leaves class.
Darius does best in a very structured environment with a reliable routine. He can have difficulty when his routine is disrupted. Darius has shown the ability to form meaningful bonds, but still benefits from extra attention and assistance with his everyday tasks and developing positive coping skills. At school, Darius benefits from having a routine. He sometimes requires assistance to stay on task.
Darius needs a committed forever family with two parents who can provide the one-on-one attention he needs to thrive. His new parents should be experienced and knowledgeable of the impact of trauma on a child. Darius will need a family who can provide him the structure and a consistent daily routine that helps him function at his best. The adoptive family must be strong advocates for the services Darius needs to thrive.
